A heart attack occurs when blood stream to the heart is blocked. The blockage is often a buildup of fat, cholesterol, and other substances that form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries).
Sometimes, a plaque ruptures and a blood clot can form a clot. Blocked blood flow can damage or destroy parts of the heart muscle.
A heart attack, also called a myocardial violation, can be damning, but treatment has promote dramatically over the years. It is very important to call 911 or emergency medical help if you think you may be having a heart attack.

Pressure, tension, pain, or a squeezing or painful sensation in your chest or arms that may spread to your neck, jaw, or back

• May cause heartburn or abdominal pain

• Lightheadedness or sudden dizziness

Not all people who have a heart attack have the same symptoms or the same severity of symptoms. Some people have easy pain; Others have more severe pain. Some people have no symptoms. For others, the first sign may be sudden cardiac catch. But the more signs and symptoms you have, the more likely you are to have a heart attack.
Some heart attacks strike abruptly, but many have warning signs and symptoms hours, days, or weeks in advance. An early warning may be recurrent chest pain or pressure (angina) that is triggered by activity and relieved by rest. Angina is caused by a transient decrease in blood flow to the heart.
When to see a doctor
Act immediately. Some people wait too long because they don't recognize important signs and symptoms. Take these steps:
Call for emergency medical help. If you wonder that you are having a heart attack, do not hesitate. Call the emergency number. If you do not have access to emergency medical services, go to the nearest hospital.
If there is no other option, just drive yourself. Driving yourself puts you and others at risk as your condition may worsen.
Take nitroglycerin as directed by your doctor. Take it as directed while waiting for emergency help.
If recommended, take aspirin. Taking aspirin during a heart attack can reduce damage to the heart by preventing your blood from clotting.
Aspirin can interact with other medications, but do not take aspirin unless advised to do so by your doctor or emergency medical personnel. Don't delay taking aspirin by calling 911. Call first for emergency help.
What to do if you see someone who may be having a heart attack
If you have fainted and you believe you are having a heart attack, call for emergency medical help first. Then breck to see if the person is breathing and has a pulse. You should only start CPR if the person isn't breathing or if you can't find a pulse.
Apply rapid or rapid pressure on the hand - 100 to 120 times a minute.
If you are not trained in CPR, doctors may recommend chest compressions only. If you are trained in CPR, you can move on to opening the airway and breathing.`
